At Croton Children and Family Counseling, our approach is firmly grounded in a Strengths-Based and Client-Centered philosophy. We believe that every individual possesses the inherent resources needed to overcome life's challenges. Our role is to guide children and families in identifying and harnessing these strengths effectively. Children, especially, require validation and empowerment to navigate various stressors, whether stemming from academic pressure, family dynamics, social issues, self-esteem issues, or mental health concerns. Establishing a strong therapeutic bond built on trust and validation is paramount in empowering children to tackle these stressors and achieve their goals. We understand the critical role families play in a child's therapeutic journey. It's essential for families to continue the supportive atmosphere cultivated in therapy at home. By assisting families in feeling strong and capable, we foster a collaborative environment where everyone is on the same team, working together to overcome challenges and achieve lasting wellness.

I am a Licensed Master Social Worker with over 20 years experience working with children, teens, adults, and families in various non profit and hospital settings. I am a caring and compassionate advocate who believes in identifying and building on the individual strengths of clients as the first step to positive life changes. Looking for areas where a client can find success can help build confidence and motivate them on their journey to address the challenges they are facing. My goal as a therapist is to provide a space where a client, whether a child or an adult, feels heard, supported, and empowered in navigating family dynamics and the world in healthy ways.
I am a graduate of Northwestern University and earned my Masters in Social work from Columbia University. My work includes individual and family counseling, developmental screenings, support groups, parent training courses, resource coordination and community engagement. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with clients of various family structures as well as those who have unique concerns and needs associated with adoption, military life, special medical and educational needs, grief and loss, chronic illness, and parenting newborns to teens.
As the parent of three children, I am keenly aware of many of the challenges faced by kids and families in today's world related to post pandemic effects, increased technology use, social media and school pressures. Additionally, I know the life of a family changes with each stage of development of children and the parenting strategies must also evolve. I look forward to nurturing strong, therapeutic relationships with clients in a supportive environment to bring greater self awareness, empowerment and goal setting so clients can make positive changes in their lives and the lives of their families.
